The Mvule Project is a mult-faceted community development program that aims to: reforest hardwoods, encourage community cooperation, and catalyze economic growth.
The project compensates villages for planting hardwood trees throughout the south-central region of Uganda. Communities are then encouraged to spend that collective compensation on another project that will benefit the entire village–whether it be a roof for a local school, a water well, or a goat project.
Westerners get to participate in providing the funding capital. In providing such funding, the donor will be able to track the tree on Google Maps as well as receive photo updates of the trees, communities, and projects.
