Leon Blue – Advisory Board
Leon is one of the original founders of Kibo Group, having been on the Kilimanjaro climb that birthed its very existence and supporting the original missionaries from day one. He’s a retired cardiologist and lives in Searcy, Arkansas, where he currently serves in the graduate CFIT program at Harding University and on the boards of Heartbeat and What Really Matters. Leon is married to his high school sweetheart Margaret and has two adult children and five grandchildren. He loves sitting by the fireplace with a good book. Leon is a big Kibo fan and serves as an Emeritus Trustee member of the Advisory Board.
What Leon loves about Kibo: I believe Kibo is a reflection of Jesus in that it does for others in a way that I hope others will do for me. I love the Healthy and Safe Kitchens program, due to proper hygiene and nutrition being very important for the development of young people and maintenance of health for the entire village. The Mvule project is another favorite of mine, with a long-term view that is very exciting.”
