Spencer Bogle – Trustee

Spencer joined Kibo’s board in 2022. He is the Program Director at The Water Project, where he works with teams in Kenya, Uganda, and Sierra Leone to provide reliable access to safe water for people in rural communities. Spencer and his wife Emily lived and worked in Uganda from 2004 until 2010, during which time they noticed the lack of access to clean water and significant issues related to it. Emily, a nurse, paid particular attention to the illnesses this caused, while Spencer studied the way people planned their days around the need for water, and these observations led them to begin Kibo’s WASH program. The Bogles live in Henniker, New Hampshire with their two boys.

What Spencer loves about Kibo: “I love the work that Kibo is doing in WASH. Having access to safe water unlocks so many capabilities for people—professionally, economically, and personally. It’s amazing to see people thrive when they no longer suffer from sickness due to contaminated water or from spending hours and hours walking to get water every day. I also appreciate Kibo's holistic, person-centered approach to developing relationships.”
